i admit i've slept on this mix for a while, but it is not too late. dude mixes floor mixes of some stuff we've all heard before, as well as some more obscure stuff. ha makes it work without a single complaint from either the "i've heard this song too many times before" camp or the "play us stuff we know and love" camp. good f!@#$%^ work.

this super-group drops their debut long player, with (in case you somehow don't know yet) jack white, brendan benson, and the rhythm section from the (excellent) greenhornes. catchy, and includes a led-zeppelin-style jam with tons of bell on the ride, a mellotron, songs with a huge vocal-front mix, and others with a much lower, much more psych mix. and more.

(2 tracks from some) even though you (and i both) probably don't know who these all are, it's worth checking out. when was the last time you checked out a band you had never heard of? i do it every day, it is really refreshing, and additicting, and is kinda why i started this blog.
